Workshop Costs

£260 per day plus materials (discounts rendered for projects that last more than one day). We also ask for a deposit of £50 for use of the tent in the event of damage by school groups, the average takeout from this deposit is £10 for cleaning after an event.

One day workshops can include two classes of approximately 30 students, one in the morning and one in the afternoon, Or one day workshops for four classes; two in the morning and two in the afternoon. Detailed workshop lesson plans can be provided after agreeing on a particular class, activity and level.

Lesson Aims - anti Islamic phobia, cultural awareness, breath of learning, community cohesion, challenging cultural and religious stereotypes.

Learning Outcomes - A commitment to the wider groups in which we belong, interaction with people from differing cultures, art and craft skills, understanding layers of meaning, expressing views, listening, writing unfamiliar letters, learning how people live in different countries. Recognising similarities and differences between themselves and other groups of people, thinking and analysis skills, looking at metaphors. How to talk to people from outside their peer group.


This grid contains a list of “optional” activities and their suitability for different levels. For a one-day workshop using two classes we would recommend a story + Islamic name activity+ one art and craft activity and a reflection activity. For a one-day workshop using four classes, we would recommend a story + Islamic name activity + a reflection activity.

How the art and craft activity is rendered depends on the time, size of class and age of the children.


Additional material costs:
£1 per head for pom poms, tassel making and shadow puppets
£2.00 per head for rug making
£3 per head for felt making, Rajastani quilting, Mosaics.
Material cost can vary or be waivered if the school already has the necessary materials themselves or if they would be prepared to order themselves.
