VESTIVAL 2010

Advertisment
“I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the volunteers involved with organising this event. It was really beneficial on so many levels: recruiting, promoting our services and networking” British Red Cross
We are writing to you to explain about a fantastic volunteering event which you organisation maybe interested in attending on Saturday the 24th April 2010.

We work for the charity BTCV (British Trust for Conservation Volunteers) on the vinvolved project. The vinvolved project is a national youth volunteering programme, funded by the charity v, who are dedicated to providing volunteering opportunities for 16 – 25 years olds. The vinvolved project provides an exciting opportunity for young people to get active within their community; gaining valuable experience, accreditation and the inspiration to do something positive!

A team of our young people are organising a day long volunteering festival in Plymouth City Centre to celebrate and recognise the work of young volunteers across Plymouth, highlight the volunteering opportunities available to people in the area, and we think it would be fantastic if you could get involved with this event!

The event was first held in 2009. It was very successful and we received some great feedback from the organisations who attended. This year, we are hoping to get as many local charities and organisations along to have a stall at the event. Why not have activities to draw people over to your stall?! There will also be local voluntary music and dance groups to provide the event with visual entertainment. There will be a large advertising campaign in the local press, headed up by our volunteers, to get as many young people to the event as possible. This could be a great opportunity for you to highlight your particular cause to the people of Plymouth as well as recruit volunteers to help you with your work.
“We all had good fun...as did the visitors we spoke too! It was also really great to chat to some of the other local volunteering organisations” Green V
The pitches at the event are FREE. However, to keep the cost so low, we are asking charities if they could bring their own tables, display boards and chairs for their pitch. If you do not have anything like this, please let us know in good time. There will be a few electrical points available at the site on a first come, first served basis! If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to contact us on the above contact details. We look forward to hearing from you!
