Serving with Faith

The beginning of Inter Faith Week in Devon was marked by a gathering at Plymouth University on 20th November.

The Roland Lewinsky Building was host to a variety of stalls, displays and performances illustrating today’s diversity of faith and religious communities.

Exhibitors included participants from Bahai’, Buddhist, Christian, Hindu, Pagan and Islamic traditions, as well as practical activities such as supporting more vulnerable people, Chaplaincies and protecting the environment.

The event was launched by Deputy Lord Mayor and Mayoress Cllrs. Edward Delbridge and Lynda Bowyer. The programme also included dance, music, singing, turban winding, a DVD presentation and questions time.

The aims of Inter Faith Week in the UK are to increase awareness and understanding of our differences and strengthen good relations between communities by celebrating diversity.
