Reading Room and 'Little' Library - Now Open

As part of its 10th Anniversary celebrations the Centre will be opening a refurbished reading room and library facility.

PCFCD now houses well over 3,000 resources, relating to faith, interfaith, spirituality and the teaching of RE and Citizenship. The book collection has been wonderfully enhanced through the legacy of Marjon theology lecturer, Professor Jim Little, who died last year. His eclectic and wide-ranging collection of over 700 books and 300 journals has been deposited with the Centre on long-term loan. Thanks to a patron all the books have been catalogued on an in-house database and the information will be available on-line shortly.

The reading room is being named The “Little” Library in memory of Professor Little.
The Deputy Lord Mayor, Councillor Edward Delbridge attended and opened the new "Little Library". Over 600 books on a wide range of Christian and broader religious studies were donated to the Centre by, Dominique, the partner of Dr. Jim Little, who died last year. Michael Bridgwater spoke movingly about Jim, who had lectured at Marjons for many years, inspiring all the students he taught. Michael said that Dr. Little was some who knew deeply, "What religion is really all about."
