Project Development and Planning

Date: 18th and 19th April

Venue: Plymouth Guild

Time: 9.30am-4.30pm with Lunch Provided

Trainer: Susan Moores

Course Outline: The course will cover the key aspects of developing a project plan, with reference to a popular funding application process, such as Awards For All (Lottery) and other Small Grants programmes.

Participants on the course will have opportunities to consider the following:
  • What defines a project and the stages of a project
  • What makes a project successful and balancing potential risks against possible results
  • The unique features in project design
  • Project Planning techniques
And will increase their understanding, skills and knowledge in relation to:
  • Writing a project plan within a clear framework
  • Monitoring and Evaluation; writing performance indicators and measuring success
  • Basic budgeting/costings
  • The terminology used in project development and project management

The course will be run with a combination of small group exercises, tutor input and working through suggested templates using the examples of project work that participants bring to the training. The course is supported with handouts.

Community workers, project leaders, social entrepreneurs, development workers and anybody else with a project idea they would like to move forward!
