SACRE Meeting at Council House December 09

The Standing Advisory Council on Religious Education meet this month at the Council House. SACRE meets each term to oversee, monitor and advise the local authority on what needs to be done to improve religious education (RE) and collective worship for schools in its area.

SACRE is a unique organisation that comprises four groups,
Group A -Representatives of Christian denominations other than the Church of England, and representatives from other world faiths across the city.
Group B – Representatives nominated by the Church of England diocese.
Group C – Teacher representatives from a wide range of associations and unions.
Group D – Elected members from the City Council.
There are also a number of co-opted members on SACRE.
